In this International Women’s Day, I would like to share a graceful poetry wrote by Rupi Kaur (yes, I am a fan)
“I want to apologize to all the women
I have called pretty
before I’ve called them intelligent or brave
I am sorry I made it sound as though
something as simple as what you’ve born with
is the most you have to be proud of
when your spirit has crushed mountains
from now on I will say things like, you are resilient
or, you are extraordinary
not because I don’t think you’re pretty
but because you are so much more than that”
I am really pleased that women nowadays are very conscious for their empowerment. I have witnessed many campaigns, social movements and non-profit organizations emerge in different sides of the world.
I believe if women work together and support each other, magic will happen. Women are as talented and capable enough as men. Yes, gender equality. Sadly society’s mind are still trapped in stereotypes that women should not be too hard working, too leading or too educated. I hope this recent condition is a good start to encourage women empowerment.
Women should not be self-limiting. All human-being deserve to have tenacity and bravery to achieve their ambition. Be as you wish to seem. Face all the things that are stopping you from achieving your objectives. Because darling, we are so much more than that.
